Ryvn had not anticipated the fall to be that bad, the cliff was further than he had expected... but luckilly a few branches had softened the fall a little bit. He sat under one of the massive trees, treating a wound along his unarmored left arm, wincing and standing up as he looked around, continuing his hunt. However, he did not quite wish for a fall like that. His entire body was still shaking from the force of his legs hitting the ground.
"I guess feet first is always the best way to go." He muttered to himself, bow in hand and moving slowly through the underbrush, watching a deer quite a ways off. He was going to continue stalking the deer, hopefully it would lead him elsewhere, maybe a little bit closer to a river of some sort. His arm erupted in pain and he had to let go of the notched arrow in order to keep from accidentally loosing it and startling his quarry. "so much for a good hunt...." He grumbled afterwards.

Mariaro woke up. He growled, seeing butterflies starting to surround his head. He clawed at them, seeing two pair of wings get ripped apart and fall to the ground. He watched as the others left. He was about to go back to sleep when he smelled something. Something human. No, something between a human. Something like a...Blood-elf? Yes, yes it had to be. He had seen many blood elves pass through these woods, but many of them had got away from him. But this one he smelled, it smelled like a human and a blood-elf. Maybe their was just two of them out their. A blood-elf and a human. But they didnt really go together did they? The blood-elves usually stay alone, afraid that if they had a friend they might turn on them. They usually only trust their own kind. It didnt matter, he would take the intruder down anyway.
He made his way out of the cave, out to the open, in the forest. His eyes darted around, then he saw a deer just standing their. It must have seen something, no big deal. But then it came to him. What if the deer had seen the blood-elf or the human or...Whatever it was. He made his way around the trees, hoping he would not be seen as he tried to get a good view. When he was behind a group of trees, he peeked his head out. Their, was a human. Or was it a blood-elf? He couldnt quite make it out, and it didnt matter. He saw that one of his arms was some kind of technical device. Maybe something had happened to his arm, and they had to replace it. A tracker device thats what is is! He thought to himself. He wondered how he should make his move. He thought for a minute. He went to the other side of the trees, making sure he was seen. Then he ran over to the deer, and grabbed it. He made sure that the intruder had seem him, but not clearly. Then he waited, for a stupid mistake the intruder would make.

Ryvn's eyes narrowed. Not only had he seen a dragon earlier through the canopy of the forest, but he could feel its presence nearby. He just kept moving, his body never stopping. He had to find something, a body of water, anything, that would allow him a chance to clean what wounds he had. Those reamies were vicious little buggers, but nothing he wasn't used to handling. He had handled things just as nasty further north.
He continued on until he reached a small creek, taking a break and drinking deep from his waterskins before returning to clean his wounds. The water here was clear and clean, a good thing to clean wounds with. Ryvn signed as he washed the large scrapes on his arm out with the clear water, bringing up a few bandages and wrapping them quickly. He ran a hand through his beard and sighed, grumbling silently to himself. "One of these days I'm going to need to get rid of this..." he muttered, using his knife to keep the beard he had trim and neat, even in the wilderness.
He had noticed the dragon grabbing the deer earlier, but ignored it all together. If the dragon wanted him gone, he would most peaceably leave, though if it was a fight the dragon wanted, he or she was not going to get it. Ryvn was not in the mood to get into a fight at the moment. In fact, why would he want to fight when there were so many things to be taken care of. It just made no sense to fight with gaping wounds that had not yet healed.

Mariaro had the deer in his teeth. He made his way through trees, trying to find the intruder. When he saw him, he turned his head, and then jerked it forward, watching the deer land behind him. What are you doing in my territory? He growled. He waited for an answer as he looked around. He was ready to attack when ever. He needed. He just wanted the intruder out. Blood-elves didnt really cooperate well. But humans..Humans was usually afraid. Afraid of wild dragons most of the time. Of course, their was some stupid humans that got their selves eat by being all "brave" and such. He kept his eye on him. If he did one thing to harm his special home, he would kill him instantly. He loved his the forest, and hated everyone that tried to harm it.

Ryvn sat down by the creek, the wound taking a lot out of him. He jerked his head back towards the clearing by the cliff, pointed it and began whistling like a projectile falling from the sky, simultaneously drawing his finger down until it was level with the ground and saying "Splat." He turned back to the dragon after having looked over his shoulder. "I'm not here by choice, good dragon, rather, by ill luck and a lack of anywhere else to fall off that cliff." He added afterwards, shrugging and wincing as pain shot through his bandaged arm. "Curse this wound..." he muttered under his breath, fist clenching tight. "As you can probably see... I'm not exactly in the mood to do anything stupid, and fighting would fall under that, so if its a fight you want, you'll have to look elsewhere." Ryvn managed to gasp out through the pain, sitting up.

Your a harm to my home! Your just like the rest, caring for yourself! I care about my home, and will do anything to protect it from people like you! He looked around and then at the intruder. Your in my territory He thought of the options he had to take care if him. Maybe his own body. Maybe he could drown him. He didnt really care about what he did. Hey, maybe he could scare him off. Why exactly are you here? He finally asked, after a while of silence. He would grit his teeth while he waited for an answer. He hated waiting. Hated it so bad. He stuggled to keep still, moving is tail side to side every now nd then. Pawing at the dirt. He looked up at him, expecting an answer.

Ryvn looked down, face somber. "I am traveling. You probably understand not having a safe home, if you think I am a threat. I have worse things to think about than you killing me." He responded to the last question, then thought about the rest of the comments. "People like me... I highly doubt there are... people who have had their arm blown off by magic controlled by a man's rage, people who aren't afraid of dragons to the point of not even attacking them..." He responded, pausing for a minute before chuckling grimly. "...Orphan nobodies who probably shouldn't be alive... Sure, there's PLENTY of people like me" He added, the last sentence filled with sarcasm. "If you think that I am here to harm your home, then you, too, are like the 'rest'. You claim this is your home, so you are protecting what's yours... caring for yourself. Its a natural response though, nothing to be ashamed of.... But, then again, having no others to help protect you tends to force you to protect yourself, so I think we're in the same boat here.... You're a fool if you think I came here with the sole purpose of harming you or your home, after all, I don't even know this region." He finished, closing his eyes, face still somber as he cradled his wounded arm.

Mariaro was surprised. He went into defense position anyway. How can I trust you? Their have been many people who has tried to harm my home, how do I know your not like them? He asked. How do I know your telling the truth? He looked at him up and down. Proof your not a harm to me and my home He finally said. He was ready to watch anything he had to, and ready to attack if he was harming the forest. One wrong move, and your dead! I would suggest you proof yourself quickly, young one! He waited for an action. I am not one to be patient He growled after a while. He waited in silence. He had spoke enough. He had said everything he needed to say. If he needed to say something else he would.

Ryvn drew in a deep breath. "What would a half-elf nobody gain from it? nothing. I guess you could call me a ranger, someone who makes a living traveling the land, learning it in order to be a guide.... I gain nothing from harming the land, and so doing so is worthless." He responded, closing his eyes, face somber still. The tone of his voice was dead serious. He sighed and shifted again, rolling his right shoulder, getting rid of a upper-back itch that had just come up. He listened closely and he heard more crashing. He stood up, ignoring the throbbing pain in his arm before turning in the direction of the noise. "I think you have more reason to fear whatever that is destroying your home." Ryvn said with obvious tension, readying his bow and motioning for the dragon to follow as he ran along the creek.
It wasn't long before what it was found him. A reamie. "Oh you've got to be kidding me..." he grumbled under his breath, drawing an arrow and loosing it into one of the beast's eyes, forcing it to become half-blind, but right as it passed him, he loosed another onto its other eye, blinding it completely. It flailed a bit before Ryvn came behind it and jammed one of his long daggers into the back of the reamie's neck. "This is turning out to be one hell of a day." he grumbled, wincing visibly as his left arm sparked with pain.

Mariario stuck out his tongue and hissed. He started to crawl to the Reamie. Move aside, young one! He growled. He made his way to the Reamie's tail. When he was behind it, he snapped his teeth onto it, hearing it scream in pain. Then he lifted it off the ground, and threw it against a tree. He let go of it, and started to breathe fire on it. Seeing it go still he smiled. He looked at the half-elf then saw a movement. He whipped around and saw the Reamie moving its leg. He threw a fear ball at its head, and saw everything go still. And it would stay that way. He turned to the blood-elf.

He was knocked to the ground, the Reamie trying to pin him. However, the dragon managed to throw it off of his body right as it was about to sink its claws into his shoulders. He rolled away and sighed, stretching his arm out before he sat up to watch the Reamie die. "That thing is ugly..." He muttered, glancing sideways at the dragon. He cleaned his dagger's blade and sheathed it just as quickly, stretching and shaking the stiffness out of his left arm. "So... do you have a name? I don't want to just call you 'dragon' constantly." He inquired, breathing hard. "Oh... and I have to thank you for saving my life..." He said solemnly. "I owe you big time."

Mariaro grinned. Mariaro, say it like this, Ma re are ro. He said, and started to make a sound. It sounded like he was growling, but he was laughing.[/i] Ok, I have to give you credit, your pretty good for a half-elf. He laughed some more. Whats your name, I cant go around calling you 'human' all the time can I? He said. He was starting to like the half-elf. He didnt seem like a threat anymore, now that he had proved it. He turned his gaze to his cave and gritted his teeth. There was rocks that had tumbled down in front of the entrance. He went over to the rocks, and spun around, hitting them with his tail. He saw the rocks drop to the ground, and he moved his paws back and forth across the rocks, until they were out of the way. Would you like to come in? He asked, surprised at his own words. He had never let anyone, not even a dragon, into his home.[/size]

"We are well-met, Mariaro, my name is Ryvn." Ryvn responded, smiling slightly before looking around, making sure no more were around. "I do what I can, and when I can't I improvise. Everything I can to keep myself alive for another day, you know." He responded to Mariaro's comment about him being 'Pretty Good'. As he spoke, he scanned the cliff-side, much to his relief there weren't any more reamies anywhere near the area, if they were even in the valley, although Ryvn held to the fact that when there was one, there were more. It would be good to be cautious later on. As he gathered up his belongings, he heard the offer of shelter from the dragon. Ryvn glanced back, grabbing his small pack and turning around. slinging it across his back before bowing to Mariaro. "I would be honored." He said softly, responding to the dragon's offer to enter his home. He walked casually back to where Mariaro had cleared the boulders.

Mariaro grinned when he saw his pile of treasure at the center of his cave. Lockets, coins, rings, shiny rocks, anything you name it. Everything seemed valuable to Mariaro. Almost everything. He looked around to the rest of the cave, suprised seeing it was empty. He hadnt realized that he only had his treasures. Not much.. But its home.. He looked over at the half-elf, waiting to get a response. His eyes darted around. His eyes focused on one thing, and he jumped towards the top of the treasure, covering a amulet, and he started to growl. I give you a warning.. A dragon is very picky about their treasures.. Touch anything your dead!

Ryvn shrugged. "Treasures do me no good, Mariaro. I tend to avoid people and their greed as much as possible." he responded. As Ryvn took a seat near the entrance, he began removing some of the armored plates from his right arm, revealing the metal bone-like structure inside. He sighed, face going solemn as he remembered the grievous wound. He removed the plated gauntlet, unstrapping the rest of the armor around his right arm so as to reveal the place his arm once belonged. All that was left was a metal skeleton, pulsing energy within it. "No... gold gems and jewelry do not lure me anymore. I seek more important treasure: knowledge, experience... those two alone give me more than any rich man could possibly hope to attain." He added after a brief silence. Ryvn glanced up at Mariaro, who was now sitting on top of his hoard. "I do, however, have my own collection of items though, things I've found during my travels that have special places in my heart." He added after the first statement, opening a pouch on his belt to empty it of its contents, It wasn't much, a clear quartz crystal in an octahedron shape with a purple core that seemed to pulse when you turned it, a small etched pewter ball, a small flask of an elixir of some kind. and a few other trinkets, including some gold, silver, and shards of other more precious metals to be found up north.
